I'm sad that I didn't get a chance to blog on Monday. My Monday weigh in was fantastic...135lbs! No joke.
I wish I could say that it was due to diligently working out and eating well, but I can't. Actually early Saturday afternoon Ali and I left for Ohio to see Chris Young at the Dusty Armadillo in Rootstown. Should have been a 5 hour drive, took us nearly 8 hours due to a fatal accident outside of Batavia on the Thruway. So basically we skipped lunch and dinner, just snacked on Monster Energy Drinks (low carb of course), cheetos and cookies. No really, we were running so far behind that we got dressed in a McDonald's bathroom because we didn't have a chance to check into the hotel. We made it to the concert 15 minutes before the meet & greet that I had a pass for. Then after 4 hours of sleep, I had a bagel and yogurt for breakfast...and hit the road. By the time I got home I was way too tired to eat and didn't. So the joke is: the cheeto/cookie diet? It works!
Anyways, more about the concert later.
Here's a picture of Chris and I after the show though. :D

Sun City Carnival Tour Pt. 1/2 June 4
So way back on June 4th Chase and I went to see Kenny Chesney at Darien Lakes PAC. Lady Antebellum and Miranda Lambert were opening. The weather was perfect. Sunny and warm, but cool once the sun set. I did bring a zip up hoodie and was very happy that I did as I ended up wearing it most of the night. We bought our tickets from a broker and paid way over face value...BUT they were 9th row to the right of the stage. I was so excited when we got there I could hardly contain myself. We were so close to the stage!
Lady Antebellum was first out and I was really impressed. I liked the couple of songs that they had on the radio at the time, but didn't know any of their other stuff.
Miranda was up next and I knew she'd rock. I saw her quite a few years ago just before Me & Charlie Talking was on the radio. I knew that these days her show was much different not to mention then it was acoustic, this time she had her whole band. She covered I Love Rock N Roll and In The Midnight Hour (amazing!).
Finally as the sun began to set Kenny came out. In all of the other 6 shows I'd seen of him before this he closed with She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy. This time he opened with it. I was thrilled for the change up. He came out rockin' something fierce and didn't let up all night. In the middle of the show he surprised me by singing Me & You which was fantastic. He played all of his hits and owned that stage. In the beginning of one song early on (don't remember which one) Kenny's microphone died. He went and tried to use Clayton's but his wasn't turned up very loud, so he ended up sharing with Wyatt who was signing back up. They brought him a new mic after the song. During Don't Happen Twice Chase and I noticed that people had started to clear out around us, so we snuck up and stood about 2 rows back from the stage, knowing that the show as almost over. He then sang Jack and Diane. After all of the years I've seen his show, I've never seen him do it. Even back when he said he always closed his show with it. I just about lost it. It was amazing. The whole crowd sang along all night and they just seemed to get louder. After Jack and Diane he surprised everyone with an encore of covers which we watched from our new spot right up next to the stage. Amazing. He covered Travis Tritt/The Eagles, Bob Marley, Van Halen, Steve Miller Band, Lynyrd Skynyrd , Violent Femmes (!), U2, and Tom Petty and the Heartbreaker's. About half way through a girl in the front threw the TN Vols hat that she'd been wearing up on stage. Kenny asked her twice if it was his now, and she just kept screaming so he put it on. He wore that hat the rest of the night and kept it. Miranda Lambert came out during Gimme Three Steps and sang/danced along. Then she went and grabbed a saxophone and played in the horn section during The Joker/Three Little Birds. Then Kenny called Tambo out and they sang Blister in the Sun. I was shocked and very pleasantly surprised. Not the type of song you expect to hear at a Kenny concert. They rocked it. Then they sang With Or Without You to which Kenny called Hillary Scott of Lady Antebellum out and laid her down on her back on the stage and they sang to her. She was laughing hysterically. It was amusing.
Anywho, here is the complete set list and some photos.

New laptop
Last night Chase and I went to Best Buy and he bought me a fancy new laptop! It's a Sony Vaio and it's brown, I love it! Anyways, since I've now got a laptop, I have no excuse not to blog right? Beware! Over the next week or so I'm going to post reviews of the concerts I've been to this summer. I always mean to do it after the show, and I haven't done it at all. While I still remember them pretty well I figure I should blog them before I forget. Keep a look out, I'll be included photos and perhaps some video as well. Also, I've done a lot of cooking/baking lately so I'll have recipe updates too.

Ennui
Lately, I've been feeling as though I've got a case of ennui. A word that I learned on Gilmore Girls many years ago...From Wikipedia:
Ennui is a word meaning general lack of interest or boredom, or depression. It may also refer to oppressive boredom.
Michel: Look, I've had my peace with the fact that everyone who calls here is a notch above brain dead, and that the pennies I am thrown each week are in exchange for me dealing with these people in a nonviolent manner. And usually that is fine, but today, sorry lady, I have ennui.Lorelai: So, you're sleepy?
Michel: It's a metaphysical angst.
Lorelai: So, you wanna go beddy bye?
Michel: You make light, it increases my ennui.
Lorelai: Okay, that's it. Come on you need coffee.

I just can't seem to shake this feeling and it's getting to be a bit obnoxious.
On top of that, they didn't do a thing to our house last week. However, our windows/doors/lumber were all delivered. So hopefully this week the framing will all be going up and we'll have something to take pictures of this weekend. We did stop by this past Saturday after going to Canal Days (where we tried, and LOVED, deep fried Oreos) and since my mom was with us we had her take a picture of us...where our future deck will be. You can see some of the lumber in the front yard. We didn't get any photos besides this one because my camera battery was dead.
Maybe tomorrow I'll post some pictures and a recap of the Kenny Chesney concert last week. It was incredible and of the 7 times I've seen him I can honestly say it was the absolute best concert he's put on. No question. It's all that I've been able to think about for the past few days and it's become a bit of an obsession...Hey, the first step is admitting you have a problem, right?
I apologize for the jumbled mess that this blog seems to be...I took some Tylenol PM a little while ago and well yea...it's kicking in.
Goodnight.

Concert TIme!
So tonight Chase and I are going to the Kenny Chesney concert at Darien Lake. I seriously can't wait for Chase to get home because that means it's time to go! I've still got about 4 hours left waiting for him. Anyways, Lady Antebellum and Miranda Lambert are opening for him which I'm excited about. I haven't seen Miranda Lambert since I met her down at Pelican's like 5 years ago just before she made it huge!
We will be watching from the 9th row! This is the closest actual seat I've ever had to Kenny...although I've snuck up to about 3rd row a few times. Maybe I can sneak tonight and manage an autograph at the end of the show. We shall see. If nothing else I know we'll have a fantastic time and will have great pictures to share tomorrow.
Weslea will be broadcasting live from outside the concert from 3-7. She's got 2 meet and greet passes to give away. I hope I make it there in time to put my name in! She's also got Miranda Lambert from 6-7 there with her. Maybe I'll get a chance to meet Miranda again.
It feels weird to not be tailgating. Last year when we saw him in Dallas we started out around 1pm and drank/ate for hours before the show in the heat of the sun in the middle of Pizza Hut Park's parking lot. I was burnt beyond belief with crazy tan lines but loved it.
